The Institute of Economics (IdEP) of Università della Svizzera italiana regroups research and teaching activities in Economics and Public Management. The faculty of IdEP actively promotes high level research publications by its members and runs a research seminar series. 

Teaching activities include coordination of three Bologna Masters: Master in Economics (ME)Public Management and Policy (PMP) and Economia e politiche internazionali (MEPIN). Further, IdEP is involved in two national research networks (SSPH+ and SPAN) with their respective Doctoral Programs, and provides executive education in the area of health management (Net-MEGS and the Summer School in Public Health Policy, Economics and Management). The Institute is supported by USI Faculty of Economics.

Networks

As stated before IdEP is part of two national networks:

  • Swiss School of Public Health - SSPH+
    SSPH+ assembles the inter-university faculty of public health sciences affiliated with the twelve Swiss univer­sities of the SSPH+ Foundation: Basel, Bern, Fribourg, Geneva, Lausanne, Lucerne, Neuchâtel, Svizzera italiana, Zurich, BFH, SUPSI and ZHAW. SSPH+ is the national coordi­nating body for the promotion of postgraduate university education and research in the fields of public health. More information.

  • Swiss Public Administration Network - SPAN
    SPAN is a co-operative venture between the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP) and the universities of Bern, Lausanne and USI. It promotes a shared Master programme, the Master in Public Management and Policy, and a shared doctoral programme.
